I threw in a couple of wise old sayings that suggest a similar idea but are not direct translations from English in case they might suit your purpose:
An té nach gcuireann san Earrach, ní bhainfidh sé san Fhómhair. He who does not sow in Spring will not reap in the Fall.
and
Cuir gach rud ar an méar fhada is beidh an mhéar fhada róghearr ar ball. Put everything on the long finger (postpone it) and eventually that finger will be too short (you’ll miss out on the chance).
