I went by a house yesterday that had a sign on it that read Rós Cois Farraige. Is that correct? There’s the Cois Fharraige dialect, where the f is lenited, so I was wondering if there are dialectical differences or is due to the genitive being used for Cois, etc.

Cois Fharraige is a place name, so lenition is different from the use of cois as a preposition (by, near) which is usually followed by unlenited nouns.

rós cois farraige = rose by the* sea

*) I don’t know why there’s no need for an article in Irish, but it isn’t.

cois isn’t genitive of cos, but dative. Genitive is coise.
