Ok. Fair enough but if you say “Go gcabhraí Dia liom a bheith an duine a cheapeann mo mhadra mé bheith”, aren’t you saying “a bheith an duine”, and therefore “táim an duine”? If this is what people actually say, then it’s a new development and I stand corrected.

I don’t know. That’s not how I see it.

Go gcabhraí Dia liom a bheith go maith. – It doesn’t mean you are good, but that you want to be.
