De réir na bhfoclóirí: the military = an t-arm. To join the military = dul san arm
The (armed/defence/military) forces = na fórsaí (armtha/cosanta/míleata).
To join… = dul (isteach) sna fórsaí (armtha/cosanta/míleata).
