I know from http://annexedicoirlandais.free.fr/pronprep.html that “bhuaithi” is the original Ulster spelling of “uaithi.” When I plug the former into the Ulster setting on Abair.ie it comes out something like “WY•huh.” I’ve learned that Abair synthesizer is usually very accurate, but this sounds a little weird to me…like maybe it should be “WY•hee.” Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks. (P.s. I’m just now remembering that I’ve also seen the version “bhuaithe.” Could this alternate be the reason it pronounced it that way maybe?)🤔

“Bhuaithi” is meant to be pronounced wee-eh-hee in Gaoth Dobhair.

Awesome! Thanks, I appreciate it. Do you know if “bhuaithe” is also equivalent, and would that be apprx. “WY•huh.” Thanks!
