I need some help in understanding “brí athá.” It appears a few times in a dialog in Speaking Irish An Ghaeilge Bheo. The woman being interviewed is from Munster. The translation say it means “meaning.” But I’m having trouble seeing how to use it in a sentence. Seems to always be followed by leis (or le I guess).
Go raibh maith agat a Mhurchadh! I kept thinking athá was some kind of noun, but couldn’t find it. Now it makes sense. We may have touched on this variant of tá during the Buntús Cainte reviews, but I’m not sure.
