I was listening to WFUV Ceol na nGeal but it seems to me that they are not pronouncing it correctly. They say Geal rather Nail. What is the grammatical reason that Gael has an Uru. On the station are they pronouncing it correctly?

nominative singular: an Gael = the Gael
genitive singular: an Ghaeil = of the Gael
nominative plural: na Gaeil = the Gaels
genitive plural: na nGael = of the Gaels

I’ve never heard the station. Do you have a link?

But there’s not much you could make wrong:

Ceol na nGael /k´o:l nə ŋe:l/

WFUV is the radio station for Fordham University in the Bronx in NYC. The program comes on Sunday afternoons from, I think, 1-4 PM on 90.7FM.
