    Daltaí na Gaeilge

An Fómhar 2021                        (ENGLISH TRANSLATION FOLLOWS)

    AN NUACHT IS DÉANAÍ !!!

    202111g

D'fhill muid ar Esopus, Nua-Eabhrac ag deireadh mhí Lúnasa le haghaidh Seachtain na Gaeilge 2021. B'shin é an chéad uair go raibh deis againn bualadh le chéile ó Fheabhra 2020. (Bliain go leith . . . . Dochreidte!) Tá lúcháir orainn insint don saol gur éirigh thar cionn leis an gclár. Bhí slua mór i láthair, agus 'chuile dhuine ar bís leis an nGaeilge a fhoghlaim 'is a labhairt. Chaith muid an seachtain iomlán i measc ar gcairde díl, agus chuaigh gach rud ar aghaidh go binn, buíochas mór le Dia!

Bhain muid an-taitneamh go deo as an seachtain; agus anois tá muid diongbháilte go mbeidh ár gcláracha tumoideachasa ag oibriú mar is gnách aríst. Ciallaíonn sé sin go rachaimid ar ais go dtí ár gnáthchlár iomlán i gcaitheamh 2022, le cúnamh Dé.

ACH ROIMHE SIN, tá rud tábhachtach eile le déanamh againn, ar ndóigh. Beidh Daltaí na Gaeilge ag filleadh ar Choill Phenn faoi Shamhain chun deireadh ceart a chur leis an mbliain. Seo a leanas buneolas faoi Dheireadh Seachtaine Jamison 2021.

    5 – 7 Samhain 2021

Tionólfaidh Daltaí na Gaeilge ár nDeireadh Seachtaine Gaeilge, 5ú – 7ú de Shamhain 2021. Roinnt blianta anuas d'fhill muid ar Jamison, Coill Phenn, agus chuir sé gliondar ar ár gcroí bheith ann aríst. Rachaimid ar ais i mbliana, agus tá súil againn go mbeidh tú inár gcuideachta. Gheobhaidh na daoine atá cláraithe roimh 22 Deireadh Fómhair (tríd an bpost nó ar an idirlíon) lascaine $10.

Agus ná déan dearmad ar na heachtraí speisialta a bheas ar siúil againn oíche Dé Sathairn. I ndiaidh an dinnéir beidh Seisiún Cois Tine againn (laistigh i mbliana). Agus go díreach thar éis sin cuirfidh muid tús lenár gCéilí Bréigéide bliantúil. Beidh duaiseanna bronnta ar na culaithe is fearr (nó is suimiúla, is aite, is craiceáilte, srl). Cinnte go mbeidh spórt agus spraoi againne, mar is iondúil !

Tá muid ag súil le beirt FLTA a bheas páirteach mar mhúinteoirí agus leachtaí i rith na Deireadh Seachtaine. Tá sé seo curtha ar chumas ag an gCoimisiún Fulbright in Éirinn agus An Roinn Cultúir, Oidhreachta agus Gaeltachta, agus tá muid thar a bheith buíoch dóibh. Is féidir leat clarú agus íocaíocht a dhéanamh ar an idirlíon. Tá Faisnéis Ghinearálta, Eolas an Bhealaigh agus Foirm Chláraithe ar fáil tríd an nasc seo.

    LEAGAN BÉARLA

    THE LATEST NEWS !

    202111f

We returned to Esopus, New York at the end of August for our annual Summer Immersion Week. That was the first opportunity that we all had to gather together since February of 2020. (A full year and a half . . . . Incredible!) And we are very happy to tell the world that the entire program was a brilliant success. Attendance was very good, and everyone was eager to learn and speak Irish. We spent the entire week amongst are dear friends, and everything ran very smoothly, buíochas mór le Dia!

We enjoyed the Week tremendously, and now are determined to see that our Irish language immersion programs return to normal operations. That means that we will resume our full calendar of programs during 2022, God willing.

BUT BEFORE THEN, there is one more very important thing that we need to do, of course. Daltaí na Gaeilge will be returning to Pennsylvania in November to put a proper finish to the year. Below you will find basic details about that Immersion Weekend in Jamison.

    Irish Language Weekend

    – Deireadh Seachtaine Gaeilge –

    5 – 7 November 2021

Daltaí na Gaeilge will hold our 2021 Irish Language Immersion Weekend on November 5th – 7th. A few years ago we returned to Jamison, Pennsylvania, and it warmed our hearts to be back there again. We will be returning there this year, and hope to have the pleasure of your company. Overnight attendees who register by October 22nd (either by mail or online) will receive a $10 discount.

And don't forget about the special events that will be held on Saturday night. After dinner we will have a fireside seisiún (indoors this year). And immediately following that we will have our annual Costume Céilí. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes – or the ones that are the most interesting, strange, outlandish, etc. As always, we are assured to have a night overflowing with spórt, spraoi agus seafóid !

We anticipate that two FLTAs will take part as teachers and lecturers during the Weekend. This is made possible thanks to generous support from the Fulbright Commission in Ireland and the Irish Government's Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, for which we are very grateful. We would love to see you there. General Information, Directions and a Registration Form are available here.
