So, a coworker asked me for a translation the other day. She said it was something a long-dead uncle used to say whenever he’d come over visiting. He’d say it first thing, as a kind of greeting or salutation. All she was able to do was spill the syllables as best she could remember them sounding. My best guess was that the phrase started with “tá sé…” or “tá sé sin…”
Here’s what she said:
ta shay shinniguh hish
Does this sound like a standard greeting or phrase to anyone?
