The staff at Diamond Ridge were terrific, and let it be known that they would go the extra mile and make every possible accommodation within the law. Ultimately, however, with all of the restrictions that are likely to still be in place, we would not be able to run a successful program. Most of the requirements would have been annoying, but not prohibitive. But, the need for face masks and social distancing would have totally undermined our goal of letting people enjoy the Irish language in a natural social setting. There really is no way to get around that.
God willing, this will all be behind us soon; and before too long this will all be just a bad memory. We live in hope, and so we have continued planning our regular full calendar for next year. The Winter Immersion Weekend is scheduled for February 12 – 14, 2021 in Esopus. Several other program dates have already been confirmed as well, and you can always find them all on the Daltaí online EVENTS calendar. (http://www.daltai.com/events/)
