How to start well?

Hello world

I am beggining to learn Irish gaelic with Teach Yourself Irish based upon the munster dialect. Do you think that it is a good idea, or that I should switch to another book ( I also sometimes use buntus cainte but it does not always seem very rigorous).

I have another question by the way :
I saw people stacking “go” adverbial particle and “an” particle for “very” (things like go an-mhaith) but I have read in my book that an adjective modified by a particle(like ro, an) did not need the “go” to be used with “bi”. Who’s right ? Maybe both can be done?
