    Dia dhuibh,

you can how get predictive texting for Android Phones in Gaeilge, Gàidhlig and Gaelg. You need to go to the Google Play store and download “adaptxt”. Once the app is installed, you can choose which languages you are using.

After choosing and installing your language packs, you need to hit the back button and then follow the installation procedure.

If your phone insists on using the old screen keyboard (input method), you can long-click on any text input field and choose.

Interview (as Gaeilge) with Dr. Kevin Scannell:

On iPhones and iPads too now, just search for Adatxt.

On current Android phones you don’t need additional software. The Swype keyboard app that comes on most of them can now be set up to work in multiple languages at once. I have mine set to both Béarla agus Gaeilge and as I “swype” it suggests words in both languages, complete with síntí fada and all.
