    Dia dhaoibh uilig,

I’m becoming more and more interested in the Scottish variety of Gaelic and I’m wondering what have people here used to get a better insight into it? Does anyone here speak it?

I found this book which is based on the dialect of south Uist in the Hebrides, can anyone recommend it? It’s base language is Irish.

Also, any resources/old recordings with tape scripts available online would be great!

I don’t speak Scottish Gaelic either, but the BBC Alba web site has a number of learning resources, such as the “Beag air Bheag” course for beginners which is perhaps not the best option for methodical study, but will help you to get started and give you an idea what the language looks and sounds like.
