Can someone please help me find an appropriate translation to “This too, shall pass”. It need not be literal as long as it holds the same meaning.
It is intended as a daily reminder in the form of a tattoo. Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

Asked in the Irish Language forum, with answers there: http://www.irishlanguageforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=2924

Although I don’t think the ‘sé’ is necessary ‘Imeoidh seo freisin’

There is also the idiom “níl tuile dá mhéad nach dtránn”, which means literally “there is no flood that does not retreat” and can mean “nothing lasts forever” or just more casually “things will settle down eventually”.
I don’t personally think “imeoidh (sé) seo” really encapsulates very well the meaning of the phrase. It could mean a couple things depending on context, too.

Is iomaí cor sa saol. (More or less “life takes many turns”)
