Daltaí na Gaeilge arranges a workshop every February for the benefit of Irish language instructors, and our 2015 Teachers’ Workshop will be held on February 15 – 16 in Esopus, New York. We are very pleased this year that Eimhear Ní Dhuinn will be coming over from Ireland to be with us and direct the program, thanks to generous support from the Fulbright Commission. A snowstorm prevented Eimhear from leading the Workshop last year, but nothing will stand in her way this time (Please God).
Eimhear is currently Director of the Language Laboratory and Modern Irish Learning Resources in University College Dublin. She is responsible for the Language Laboratory syllabus and she assists students and instructors at the University. Eimhear has also organized both Intensive Courses and Gaeltacht Classes in Gaoth Dobhair, Corca Dhuibhne and Conamara. She previously served as Lecturer of Spoken and Written Irish in Coláiste Oideachais Froebel as well as Irish Instructor with Bord na Gaeilge in Dublin.
Eimhear is very experienced at instructing students from every Gaeltacht as well as those from Irish Medium Schools; and her classes are lively and exciting. She makes use of modern conversation techniques in class, employing computers and varied software to allow students the opportunity to practice and improve their Irish.
Online registration and payment are available for the Teachers’ Workshop. General Information, Directions and a Registration Form are available through this link: http://www.daltai.com/events/594/
