    Otv/Gaelscéal i láthair ag an Oireachtas

    Beidh físeáin ag dul in airde ar an chainéal teilifíse ar líne, Otv Gaelscéal (Oireachtas tv), agus scéalta uile Oireachtas na Samhna 2012 á léiriú inniu go ceann seachtaine.

    Déanfaidh Otv, i gcomhpháirtíocht le Gaelscéal, tuairisciú ar scéalta le linn fhéile an Oireachtais agus rachaidh físeáin in airde gach tráthnóna ar an suíomh. Beidh scagadh ar na himeachtaí agus buailfidh foireann Otv leo siúd a bheidh ag freastal ar an fhéile, leis na hiomaitheoirí agus le lucht eagraithe.

    “Beidh foireann Otv i measc an phobail le linn na féile agus beidh siad ábalta scéalta a aimsiú agus tuairimí a bhailiú nach mbeadh le cloisteáil gan é. Tá cur chuige nuálach ag an chineál seo meáin a thugann dearcadh eile ar cheann de na hócáidí is mó i bhféilire na nGael,” arsa Justin Mac Cárthaigh, stiúrthóir Otv.

    Díríonn na físeáin, atá thart ar trí nóiméad ar fhad, ar achan ghné den fhéile ó lucht na gcomórtas, muintir an phobail áitiúil agus cuairteoirí.

    “Bhuail muid le Tomás Mac an Iomaire agus a mhac, agus le Máire agus Gearóid Denvir le déanaí. Seo daoine atá ag freastal ar an Oireachtas le fada an lá a bhí sásta cuimhní agus scéalta a roinnt linn faoin Oireachtas, rud a chuireann go mór le tuiscint daoine ar an fhéile iontach seo,” a dúirt Mac Cárthaigh.

    Beidh Otv i láthair ag Scléip na hÓige, seoladh Gaelscéal ar scoil, seoladh Abair Leat, seoltaí leabhar, Comhdháil an Oireachtais, na comórtais, taispeántais ealaíon, an Cabaret Craiceáilte agus go leor eile.

    Otv, covering Oireachtas na Samhna 2013 online from today

    It it estimated that crowds of over 10,000 people will be attending Oireachtas na Gaeilge in Letterkenny this year from today until Sunday.

    Accommodation in Letterkenny has long been booked out but it is reported that Ballybofey is also completely booked up.

    Irish language festival Oireachtas na Gaeilge na been running since 1897 and whilst some lament the smaller event of the past it has grown into one of the most celebrated events in the Irish cultural calendar.

    The Oireachtas runs for five days, with competitions in Seán-Nós singing and dancing, poetry, storytelling, concerts.

    The festival’s major competitions over the weekend: Comórtas na mBan, a Sean-nós singing competition for women, Comórtas na bhFear, for men, Corn Uí Riada , for all age and gender categories, and the Comórtas Damhsa ar an Sean Nós, a free-style dancing competition.

    The Oireachtas will also host a number of conferences.

    Otv Gaelscéal will be reporting on events and getting behind the scenes and meeting the competitors, visitors and organisers of the festival.

    Otv Gaelscéal is a moving pictures newspaper whereby videos are produced every day and uploaded onto the website every evening.

    “It is all about the Oireachtas, news, views, people and events. OTV is a bridge from the past to the future, our oldest culture and our newest technology meet on the web” said Justin MacCarthy, the director of Otv.

    “Each three minute video and features an aspect of the Oireachtas, contestants, entertainers, politicians, academics but we bring a different perspective because all the people speak for themselves, OTV is simple, honest and entertaining” he said.
